Typical shallow water limestone deposit, the layers vary from 30 cm to several meters thickness, so the overall appearance is rather homogeneous. Proximity to nearby volcanic activity can be seen in the stone with volcanic detritus hosted by the layers, also quartz grains are common minor parts. In full sunlight it doesn’t need protection, otherwise in shady areas chemical sealers are recommended. Because of its nature and colour, it’s a very pleasant stone around swimming pools giving a cool feeling to your feet. Other applications are for cladding and flooring in large light indoor places.
