Tribeca is a limestone formed from very fine-grained mud deposits with a relatively high percentage of organic matter. The sulfur content in the organic matter protects the stone against fungus. Minor re-crystallization has created small calcite crystals, giving the stone a slight glittery effect. This limestone has very low porosity and permeability, making it suitable for swimming pools, driveways, and terraces.
