White Dolomite is a type of marble consisting of metamorphic Calcium Carbonate crystals. During sedimentation and subsequent solidification, part of the Calcium was replaced by Magnesium, making the stone a bit softer and more resistant to acidity. The original sediment was very fine mud, resulting in a fine-grained stone with very low porosity and permeability. This makes it suitable for use in swimming pools and resistant to fungus under normal conditions. Most commonly, White Dolomite is used with a sanded finish for terraces and swimming pools. It is also used honed for flooring and cladding.
